About

Steven Swiatek has a passion for design and construction. His experience includes over 8 years in construction and forensic engineering. Before joining the FEC Team, he served as a Civil Engineer Corps Officer in the United States Navy where he served in a wide variety of capacities and specialized in construction quality assurance, facility and infrastructure analysis, and contingency engineering.  In his roles he served as the Assistant Officer In Charge for Naval Facilities Engineer Command’s Civil Engineering Response Team, as well as the lead construction manager for a variety of complex construction projects.

NAVFAC Civil Engineer Response Team, Southeastern United States
Rapidly deployed as the assistant officer in charge to assess, design, repair, restore, and sustain critical shore infrastructure (airfields, ports, utilities, buildings, living quarters, etc.) after hurricanes Sally, Ida, Ian, Nicole,  and during other contingency operations across Southeastern US Naval Installations. 

Naval Air Station Jacksonville Airfield Area Development Plan
Conducted critical facility, infrastructure, and runway condition assessments on Naval Air Station Jacksonville’s Airfield to identify key deficiencies and develop short- and long-term plans for the modernization and development of the airfield area to meet federal building code and ensure current and future naval aviation platform support. 

Navy Gateway Inn and Suites, Mayport, FL
Performed quality control inspections while serving as the Design and Construction Manager for a four-story CMU and precast hollow core panel beachfront 126 room $34 MIL hotel on Naval Station Mayport, FL.  

Naval Ordinance Testing Unit’s Poseidon Wharf, Cape Canaveral, FL
Conducted evaluations of the aging concrete waterfront structure that is used to support the Naval Ordinance Testing Unit in loading strategic weapons onto nuclear submarines for testing. Served as the construction manager for the recapitalization of the Wharf which included demolishing and replacing the aged concrete deck and pile caps, updating the cathodic protection system, and upgrading the electrical infrastructure. 

Naval Station Mayport South Quay Wall, Mayport, FL
Served as the construction manager for the demolition and construction of a 550 ft quay wall used to berth Navy destroyers and support vessels. Conducted quality assurance inspections on critical waterfront structural components. 

Anti-Underseas Warfare Weapons Compound, Jacksonville, FL
Served as the design and construction manager for the recapitalization and addition to  a WWII era facility used to assemble torpedoes.  

Regional Fleet and Family Service Center, Jacksonville, FL
Served as the design and construction manager for the retrofitting of an existing warehouse to be utilized as a new clinical office space  and conference center for Navy Region Southeast’s Fleet and Family Support Services. 

Roof Construction and Rehabilitation, Various Locations, FL
Performed recurring quality assurance inspections for a variety of roofing projects on Naval Air Station Jacksonville and Naval Station Mayport.
