Technician – Engineer In Training (EIT)

Milwaukee: We have an immediate need for a civil/structural engineer. You should have an interest in forensic investigation, litigation support, and repair/retrofit design. You will be expected to execute investigations of existing buildings and design remedial repairs for damaged and deficient conditions. The investigations include failure origin and cause analysis, repair cost and feasibility analyses, property/builder's risk (insurance) response, litigation support, and repair design. You will be required to coordinate with other team members, support marketing efforts, and develop and maintain client relationships. This role can require up to three long-distance trips within the U.S. to various offices or sites each month.
  • Assist investigating losses on commercial structures 

  • Assist with site inspections under supervision

  • Assist with damage assessments and cause and origin investigations

  • Assist with capturing samples for testing and needed

  • Document observations with photographs and written notes

  • Become proficient in technical report writing

  • Track billable time and manage expenses

  • Assist with analysis of documentation on construction defect litigation cases

    Obtain Professional Engineering License when fitting

    General computer skills and proficient with Microsoft Calendar, Excel, Outlook, PPT, etc.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related engineering disciplines from accredited college or university
  • Registered Engineer in Training (EIT)
  • Fitness level to climb ladders, lift 50 lbs, squat, bend, kneel and drive at least 3 hours in a day.
  • Valid driver’s license
